G-Eazy caught up with Billboard’s Chelsea Briggs on Monday (Aug. 20) at the 2018 MTV VMAs, chatting about touring with Ty Dolla $ign, new music and more.
Speaking Ty, G-Eazy tells Billboard that the rapper (who he's currently on tour with) is one his favorite artists his generation and one the most talented people he has ever met.
“I'm excited to have him on my tour this summer,” he says. “We have studios set up on our buses and we've all just been working on our own stuff, working together and it's really dope.”
Asked what his top three tips to surviving a tour are, G-Eazy says that they are Pedialyte, taking naps and having fun. “This is a dream that so few people will ever get to actually get to realize,” he says. “I was a kid watching the VMAs, imagining what it would be like to be on tour and selling records and getting to do all this. To see it happen and to get to enjoy it, you gotta be present in the moment and just appreciate it.”
G-Eazy also reveals that he plans on working on and releasing new music in 2019. Asked what is inspiring him musically at the moment, he says, “I'm enjoying my summer, I'm having a great tour and I'm having fun and the music sounds like it.”
The rapper says that he would “absolutely” be up for collaborating with Kehlani again, saying that she’s like his little sister. “I love Kehlani,” he shares, “And I think the world her, so me and her will probably do a ton music before it's all said and done. It's easy for us…we were catching up recently just as friends, but we haven't talked about music.”
