G-Eazy Talks Drug, Assault Arrest: 'Grateful & Blessed to Be Free & Safe'


G-Eazy is ready to move on. The rapper (born Gerald Gillum), broke his silence on Sunday (May 6) about his arrest in Sweden last week on charges assault, drug possession and resisting arrest. “Grateful & blessed to be free & safe,” he wrote alongside a black and white picture in which he is smiling at someone f camera. “Happy to be in Copenhagen tonight doing what I love most. Embarrassed and apologetic beyond words about the incident, but above all I'm so fucking grateful they let me go, craziest experience my life.” 

Eazy, 28, was arrested at a Swedish nightclub early Thursday morning (May 3) and pleaded guilty to all three charges on Friday (May 4), receiving a probationary sentence and a $10,000 fine and a payment to the bouncer who was a victim in the nightclub assault. 

Police discovered 1.5 ounces cocaine and a rolled-up hundred-dollar bill on G-Eazy at the time his detainment, which turned violent when he was approached by several police ficers. He later admitted to using the drug throughout the night, according to The Blast.  “Awful night with a lot bad luck and some even worse decisions but like I said I'm grateful as fuck to be a free man, back on tour performing  for the fans,” he continued in the Instagram message.
