Pop-rock group Evaride tries to freeze time with a show-stopping rendition of their latest single “Limbo,” available exclusively on Billboard today (Nov. 14).
The breathless thrill from the performance fits the high stakes of the song, where the search for stability hinges on the wistful desire to live within a single moment. The live experience was a conscious decision by the band — composed of Sean Michael Murray and Hayden Maringer — who insist they “wanted to bring the song to life in the most raw form rather than doing a traditional music video.”
“Many of our fans from around the world haven’t had the chance to see us perform,” the band tells Billboard. “We decided the best way to make that happen was to record us live and bring the stage to our fans’ living room.”
The stage that they’ve chosen to beam into their viewers’ screens is the Harman Experience Center in Los Angeles, where directors Garrett Brockschmitt and Charles Schaefer captured the duo's powerful presence in a full band setting.
The live presentation also builds the anticipation for the group’s next show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Jan. 18. “Limbo” is taken from the band’s debut EP, Vol. 1, which arrived on Nov. 1 AWAL/Kobalt.
