Eisley Premieres Gorgeous, Stripped-Down 'Defeatist' Take From New Acoustic Album: Exclusive

88

Veteran indie pop outfit Eisley released its fifth studio album I’m Only Dreaming last year on Equal Vision Records. Looking to give their most devout fans a new perspective their latest batch songs, Eisley is set to release a re-imagined version the Will Yip-produced LP later this month.

I’m Only Dreaming Days Long Past  features acoustic, stripped-down, and otherwise recreated portrayals the eleven original tracks. Before its July 20 release (also on Equal Vision), Billboard is premiering the album’s reinvented second track, “Defeatist.” Once a chiming, electric guitar-led song, it’s been transposed into a delicate specter featuring just piano and frontwoman Sherri DuPree’s voice.

Previously, Eisley shared the new version track three, “A Song For the Birds.” The whole album is available for pre-order here.
