Ahead of E-40 and Too $hort’s highly anticipated Verzuz battle this weekend, the duo has teamed up to release the funky “Triple Gold Sox” single. The silky track will live on as part of a bundled version of two individual solo albums from the Bay Area legends, which will consist of 10 tracks from each and be released in full on Friday (December 19).
Forty Water punctures the fizzling production with the hook, “Triple gold socks/Triple gold socks/Triple gold socks/Busting through the mayonnaise tires with triple gold socks.”
Short’s Ain’t Gone Do It and 40’s Terms and Conditions are now available for pre-order and a tracklist includes features from G-Eazy, Gashi and Symba. The project serves as Short Dawg’s 22nd and 40’s 27th solo album, a testament to their longevity in Hip Hop,
In addition to previewing their Saturday night (December 19) Verzuz celebration, the West Coast pioneers hit The Breakfast Club earlier this week to also tease what’s to come with their Hip Hop supergroup comprised of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Short and 40. “Long story short man, we made a lot of songs,” Short said. “And it really definite of what it’s gonna be but it’s gonna be something — it’s just a lot of songs. There is no [group] name. We just some OGs; everybody got studios, and facilities and rap beats … it’s something like I feel we’re doing this for Hip Hop. And we I said that … you could be doing it for the bag. Nobody don’t need the bag!”
