Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one the biggest movie stars in the world. The WWE wrestler turned movie star has brought excitement back into action flicks. His energy is reminiscent Arnold Schwarzenegger's in the 80's, a muscular and dedicated hero that always saves the damsel and destroys anyone that gets in his way. Johnson stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show on Tuesday, and displayed a more sensitive side as he spoke about his 16-year-old daughter Simone.
Speaking with Ellen, Johnson reveals that actress Frances McDormand, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri this year, has gained his admiration. Recalling the award ceremony, Johnson begins, “I’ll never forget this. Frances McDormand, she wins a Golden Globe." Simone was working the event as a Golden Globes Ambassador, and McDormand showed her love when she went to accept the award.
Johnson continued on with his story, stating, "She goes up there and, I love Frances, as we all do, she goes up and right before she speaks, she turns around and walks to the back the stage and shakes Simone’s hand out the blue. It just blew me away. No one did that, and she just had the awareness to do that to my 16-year-old daughter. She gave her speech, and as she’s walking f, she grabs Simone’s hand. She has the Globe in this hand and Simone’s hand in this hand and she kisses Simone’s hand. And I was so blown away by that gesture.”
After he finished his anecdote, Johnson revealed that he has a crush on McDormand. “It was so beautiful her, and I’ve been meaning, by the way, to call her and tell her, but now that I’m here, I’ve got to tell you, Ellen, I’ve got a little crush on Frances," explains Johnson. "Frances, we’re gonna have to exchange numbers because just between you and I, I know nobody else is watching, we’re getting married." Johnson is currently expecting his third child with partner Lauren Hashian.
