The remix for the song comes as it nears the top 10 of Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.
Dreamers' "Die Happy," the lead single from the New York-based trio's sophomore effort Launch Fly Land, is already a modest hit at alternative radio, rising to a new peak of No. 11 on Billboard's Alternative Songs airplay chart dated Oct. 12.
Now, the song scores its own official remix, courtesy of fellow alt-rockers The Wombats, which Billboard is exclusively premiering today, Oct. 10.
The new rendition of "Die Happy" turns up the fuzz and reverb factor a bit, putting more emphasis than before on the bass and guitar while also adding occasional vocal effects.
“So many of our all time favorite bands are from England; something in the cloudy souls of those people just seems to breed great authentic rock 'n' roll," Dreamers tell BIllboard. "And now that we’ve finally been able to start getting over there to play shows, we’re honored that modern-day English legends The Wombats wanted to put their spin on our song. Cheers to the remix, friends!”
The remix comes as Dreamers gear up for a 29-date North American tour that kicks off Oct. 24 in San Diego. The jaunt stretches east before returning to the West Coast for a final show Dec. 6 in Los Angeles.
Should "Die Happy" reach the top 10 of Alternative Songs, it would mark the band's second top 10, following the No. 7-peaking "Sweet Disaster" in May 2017.
