Akademiks prides himself on knowing all the dirt when it comes to rap and R&B — he’s basically made an entire career out of gossiping. So when the former Everyday Struggle co-host jumps on Twitch, he usually has some bit of information that becomes internet fodder.

More recently, Akademiks predicted Drake would be releasing another album as the follow-up to Certified Lover Boy or, at the very least, a single.

“Here’s the great thing about Drake,” he said around the 8:26-mark. “I think Drake is going to drop more music. First of all, he’s aware of what people perceive his career like, if it’s trending up or down. I think he’s gonna drop new music in the next two months, facts. Or he’s gonna drop a single.”

Certified Lover Boy was released on September 3 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with over 610,000 total album-equivalent units earned in its first week, the biggest debut of 2021.

The 21-track project remained in the coveted spot for two more weeks before NBA YoungBoy managed to dethrone the 6 God with Sincerely, Kentrell.

According to HITS Daily Double, NBA YoungBoy’s featureless project pulled in over 137,000 total album-equivalent units to nab the top spot, while CLB held on to the No. 2 position.

CLB served as Drake’s sixth studio album and boasted contributions from Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Giveon, JAY-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Yebba, 21 Savage, Project Pat, Tems, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Kid Cudi.
