Dom Dolla's "Take It" is one spicy funk jam. The Australian producer's runaway hit uses trippy melodies, jackin' rhythm and toe-curling synth bass to burrow into your brain and make your whole body move. It helped inspire us to name him One to Watch in April. Now the offbeat tune gets an equally surreal music video, directed by Ross McDowell.
The humurous clip depicts a raver with a hangover as psychedelic as the night she had before. Her phone is cracked, some strange little man is in her room and all the Alka-Seltzer in the world can't undo all her murky, club-fueled decisions. There's something classic in its raw composition.
“I’ve been a fan of Ross’ work for some time, so naturally I couldn’t be more excited to have a director of his caliber working on my first ever clip," Dolla tells Billboard Dance. "I wanted this video to be a visual extension of the track, a tongue-in-cheek representation of club culture that is relatable, yet weird as hell. I think he’s absolutely nailed it.”
