Diplo’s Plane Lands Safely After Cracked Window Scare

Diplo is alive and well following a scare on a Saturday afternoon (Aug. 3) flight to Columbus, Ohio.

"My jet window just cracked open and the pilots are wearing masks so not sure ill make my shows tonight but they left the wifi on so I'm just going to sit in the back and smoke toad venom and Vlog. I just bought this cool vest in Dallas at a thrift store," he wrote on Instagram, where he shared photos from inside the airplane he was on.

"Also i never told you this but I might by gay," he added. (He was perhaps referencing the famous air turbulence scene from Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous, in which the bandmates from the fictional Stillwater drop all their secrets — including the drummer exclaiming "I'm gay!" — while in fear that their plane's about to go down.)

"Ok so we landed in Colombus and everyone asked me if I was gay not if I was safe just FYI," Diplo wrote in one comment below his initial post. In another, he replied to someone asking about Fortnite: "bro I'm going to fucking die I can't buy a battle pass right now."

An update on the situation soon came  Diplo's Instagram stories, where he gave a closer look at the cracks in the plane's window from outside the aircraft.

"I'm still breathing," he wrote in his stories. "I'm OK."

Diplo is scheduled to perform in Minneapolis, Minn., and Columbus, Ohio, this weekend.
