Detroit Rapper Babyface Ray Calls Himself ‘The Face Of The City’ On NYC Billboard

New York, NY – Babyface Ray closed out the new year by surprising his fans with the title and release date of his next album on Friday (December 31). The Detroit rapper, who released an EP titled Unfuckwitable in February, teased his new project with a flashy billboard on the corner of W 42nd & 8th ave in New York City’s Times Square.

The billboard showcases three glistening chains with wave emoji pendants and poses the question, “Who’s the FACE of your city?” hinting that FACE would be the album title. Babyface Ray confirmed this title via Instagram.

“FACE ON THE WAY” he wrote in the caption next to a photo of the billboard. From the looks of it, the project is set to drop January 28, 2022.

Unfuckwitable garnered a lot of positive reception from Babyface’s rap peers, including Tyler, the Creator, who on Friday included the 30-year-old’s Moneybagg Yo collab “If You Know You Know” amongst his favorite songs of 2021.

The Call Me By Your Name rapper previously praised the track in February on his Instagram story.

“This shit silly” he wrote with a screenshot of the single playing on his car radio.

A visual to the single released on January 29, and featured Babyface and Moneybagg indulging in a game of pool together while spitting bars about their past lives.

“How the fuck a n-gga catch COVID, all that Perc’ and lean/How the fuck I make it out the hood with all that dirt and skin/One time for the real n-ggas who locked down, kept it real/Five hoes at Ruth Chris, what you want? I’ll pay the bill,” the East Detroit native raps.
