We may have predicted the demise Derrick Rose's 2018 NBA Season a little too soon. Mind you, after the trade deadline came and went, it seemed that all playf bound teams, or at least those contending for spots, had addressed the glaring needs they had uncovered in the first half the season.
Sitting sixth in their conference, and without a comfortable cushion to lean upon down the stretch, the Minnesota Timberwolves had to act fast in order to salvage their season. Their team had gone only so far as Jimmy Butler was willing to take them. Without him in the lineup for stretches, the team looked uninspired, and lacked purpose. In the worst possible scenario, it's Butler's indefinite injury that has put them in panic mode.
The NBA's foremost insider Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves have in fact signed Derrick Rose for the remainder the season on a prorated contract. Whether Derrick can find his footing in their rotation, or have a pronounced effect on their season remains unclear, but rest assured, Rose will be using this opportunity as a showcase for next season. May his health hold up until we reach that point. We may never know what would have been had he not torn his ACL.
