Denzel Curry Teams Up With Punk Bands For Hardcore Spotify Singles: Listen

Denzel Curry stopped by the Spotify studios for a hardcore Singles session, which released on Wednesday (July 31), but was recorded in NYC prior to chopping off his dreads earlier this year. The Carol City, Fla. native connected with a pair of punk bands in Fucked Up and D.C.'s Bad Brains to bring his energetic set to life.

For the cover portion, Curry took the vocal lead and showed great versatility by channeling his hardcore punk roots on Bad Brains' 1986 standout cut "I Against I." The track remains pretty much the same as the orignal version. He also took it back to his 2018 TA13OO album for a live rendition of "Clout Cobain," which enlisted Toronto's Fucked Up to unleash some grungy instrumentation at his back.

The 24-year-old is coming off of his impressive Zuu album from back in May. Look for Curry to make a guest appearance alongside Rick Ross on Rozay's highly anticipated Port of Miami 2 album, which is slated to drop on Aug. 9.
