Def Leppard Shares Video for Cover of Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus'


As followers wait to see if Def Leppard will make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2019 (an honor for which they’re mightily certified), Def Lep is preserving busy with a brand new compilation referred to as The Story So Far – The Best Of, that includes three recent tracks.

One of these is an official recording of the band’s fan-favorite cowl of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus (Rock On Remix),” which Billboard is premiering the video for beneath.

“‘Jesus’ is the kind of traditional tune that may be interpreted in some ways and as Def Leppard has all the time been the type of band that may mix genres, it was a straightforward selection for us. It was that or ABBA!” says guitarist Vin Campbell. And he has some extent — their snug fluidity with genres was on full show with their wonderful 2006 covers LP Yeah!

Def Leppard not too long ago wrapped the North American leg of their co-headlining tour with Journey, which performed to 1 million followers. Journey was inducted into the Rock Hall in 2017 — right here’s hoping 2019 is the 12 months for the British arduous rock icons.
