Australia-based queer pop band Cub Sport are known for their hazy, ethereal brand of indie-pop music, making them a perfect fit for covering another burgeoning dream-pop artist like Billie Eilish.
Cub Sport appeared on the latest episode of “Like a Version,” Australian radio station Triple J’s cover session, and performed a haunting cover of Eilish’s 2018 single “When the Party’s Over.” Accompanied only by a piano and some light vocal loops, the band both stamped the song with their own original sound, while staying true to the track’s choral roots.
The band stopped by Triple J to promote their upcoming North American tour supporting their self-titled third album. At the same time, Eilish is gearing up for the release of her first studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, due out March 29.
