Aubrey O’Day’s short tenure as a recording artist included a stint in the girl group Danity Kane, as well as a solo endeavour that did not yield much success or longevity. Her sole EP Between Two Evils only debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at 131, selling a measly 15,000 copies since being released in 2013. However, one peculiar track included in the set has begun to be reevaluated outside its musicality.
Reports have begun to emerge detailing an alleged affair between the current POTUS’ eldest son and the former MTV reality show contestant. Sources are suggesting that Trump had cheated on his wife Vanessa with O’Day as far back as 2011 when she was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, to which he was a judge alongside his father and sister Ivanka. Vanessa reportedly discovered some particularly incriminating email correspondence between the two, which ultimately led him to breaking things f with O’Day.
Shortly afterwards, O’Day released a track called “DJT” whose acronymic title perfect spells out Donald John Trump. Throughout the sultry mid-tempo number, a phone conversation between O’Day and an unidentified man gives a narrative heft to the record. The ensuing dialogue includes the man revealing “I thought it was forever at the time, but maybe I was lying to myself,” as well as “I’ll always want you and I’ll always wonder about it, but it doesn’t matter because I have to stay here.”
O’Day responds by postulating “you want to believe that everything with me was a lie? A fantasy? And you want to go back and live in the life that you had — have — forever?”
Trump Jr. is currently in the midst a divorce with wife Vanessa.
