After being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this week, veteran Corey Brewer has agreed to a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to reports. In signing with the Thunder, Brewer will reunite with head coach Billy Donovan, who he played for during the Florida Gators’ back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 & 2007.
Brewer, 31, will give the Thunder some stability on the wing and help shore up a roster that is playing without defensive stopped Andre Roberson, who suffered a ruptured patellar tendon months ago.
Lakers head coach Luke Walton had nothing but praise for Brewer, according to ESPN.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently seventh in the Western Conference, but they’re just one win away from leapfrogging the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers for the fifth seed. The Thunder will take on the Suns in Phoenix tomorrow night, followed by a matchup against the Blazers in Portland on Saturday night.
