Cher Says She's Recorded a Whole Album of ABBA Covers

If your summer wasn't already hot enough (thanks, global warming) then the news Cher spilled on Monday (July 16) is about to set it on fire. In addition to appearing in the new Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again sequel, the incomparable pop icon revealed in an interview with the Today Show's Kathie Lee Gifford that she has recorded an entire album ABBA covers.

The world has already heard Cher's slam-dunk take on the Swedish group's "Fernando," but now Cher says there's way more where that came from. "After I did 'Fernando,' I thought it would really be fun to do an album ABBA songs, so I did!" she told Gifford. "It's not what you think when you think ABBA, 'cause I did it in a different way."

Though Cher recently hinted that she has a new album coming out in September, it is unclear is she was referring to the ABBA covers album or a new collection songs. Cher hasn't released new music since her 25th studio album, 2013's Closer to the Truth, which found a No. 1 single on the Dance Club Songs chart in "Woman's World."
