Last month, Chance the Rapper revealed in an interview with Complex's Open Late host, Peter Rosenberg, that he enlisted Kanye West for his own seven-track album. On Wednesday (July 10), Chano added more fuel to the story when he sat down with Windy City Live and told them that West will be heading to Chicago this month to produce his long-awaited project.
"Working under him, working with him on his albums is crazy, but having him tell me that he wants to produce my album and come to Chicago is like...This month, we're working in Chicago," Chance said. Last month, anticipation for a Chance/Kanye album rose to a crescendo once the newly-engaged MC unveiled his plans to join forces with his mentor.
"Kanye's my favorite rapper that I followed, you know, without knowing for a long time, and Donald Glover's the first rapper that ever was like, you know, 'Come on tour with me, I like your shit that no one's ever heard ...I want you to come out on the road with me,'" said Chance during his interview with Rosenberg.
Over the last several years, Chance and Kanye have linked up on tracks such as "Ultralight Beam" and "All We Got." For Chano, this album will serve as the follow-up to his 2016 Grammy Award-winning project, Coloring Book.
