Even though his tour has been pushed back so he can take some paternity leave, Chance The Rapper made time to stop by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night (Sept. 17), where he pulled double-duty as the night's musical guest and chatted up the hots about numerous topics, including Kanye West's upcoming album and his dreams of becoming a world famous comedian.
Chano didn't hold back with his beach-themed "I Got You" performance, which called on En Vogue, Kierra Sheard, and the Future Kingz to help bring his vision to life. The Chicago native threw on some board shorts and lifeguard attire to complement the tropical stage, as he took the crowd's energy to another level for the lively outdoor concert.
When the pair sat down for an interview, Kimmel brought up how Chance has referred to Yeezy as his spiritual advisor these days. "He's devoted right now. He's well-versed in the bible at this point," the 26-year-old explained. "The Sunday Service and the album that comes out next week — I feel like I'm on Kanye's press run right now. He's talking about what I believe in and it's that Jesus is King. He's spreading the good news."
Before closing out, Chance detailed how he ended up on stage at the Laugh Factory comedy club in Chicago after getting wasted one night. "I just felt it was my time, so I got up there," he said. "I believe that one day I'm gonna be a world famous comedian. I had my jokes about stupid stuff. I'm building up, I'm gonna make a whole thing. It might be called The Cookout, who knows?"
