At 51 years old, nearing the close of her Las Vegas residency and slowly achieving fashion icon status, Céline Dion has never felt better.
"I’ve reached a point in my life where I can let myself make my own decisions and choices," the singer told Elle for the magazine's latest cover feature. "Now I am discovering myself more and more. I am a woman assuming her own destiny, full of energy and in love with life. It’s never too late to start."
The "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker has carried her icon-level status from the '90s into a new generation, partly attributed to her unmistakeable personal style that she flaunts in public.
Dion recently signed on as a global spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris, citing its tagline — "I’m Worth It" — as what drew her to the company.
“Telling other women that they, too, have self-worth, that they are strong, is obviously really important," Dion said. "You cannot limit yourself. My life started over at 50; I feel happy, I feel beautiful. I thought, ‘I must have done something right for this to be happening.’”
After playing her final Vegas show on June 8, the five-time Grammy Award-winner will embark on her first U.S. tour in over a decade and release a new album. Her Courage World Tour kicks off with two shows at Videotron Centre in Quebec City (Sept. 18 and 20).
