Carrie Underwood is officially set to return to the opening theme song of NBC's Sunday Night Football, but this time, Joan Jett will join her on "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."
A sneak preview of the song and video will air during the broadcast this Sunday ahead of the full opener, which will arrive in full when the Pittsburgh Steelers play the New England Patriots on Sept. 8.
The video was shot in Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium (home to the Atlanta Falcons) and marks the first time in 14 years that it was shot inside a stadium. NFL players will also take part in the video.
A press release shared by NBC stated that Underwood came to executives with the idea to invite Jett to join. This isn't the first time Underwood and Jett have teamed up together: Just last month, the two sang a medley of classic-rock hits at the 2019 CMA Festival. Jett's 1988 song "I Hate Myself For Loving You" inspired the NFL theme, which was used as the intro from 2006 to 2015, with performances by Pink, Faith Hill and then Underwood.
