Halfway through the seasonal chart’s measurement span, the collab takes over atop the summery summary.
Halfway through the charting period (seven weeks in) for Billboard's 2018 Songs the Summer race, Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin's "I Like It" takes over at the summit, spending its first week at No. 1, on the chart dated July 21.
The 20-position Songs the Summer running tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 from Memorial Day through Labor Day (this year encompassing charts dated June 9 through Sept. 8). At the end the season, the top song the summer will be crowned.
"Like" led the Hot 100 dated July 7 and rebounds 3-2 on the latest, July 21-dated list. The song supplants Drake's "Nice for What," now at No. 2 on the Songs the Summer survey, after four weeks on top. Post Malone's "Psycho," featuring Ty Dolla $ign, at No. 3, has also led the seasonal survey this year, for two weeks.
The turnover at the top the Songs the Summer chart contrasts to that 2017, when Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, reigned for all fourteen weeks the ranking's measurement span.
Elsewhere in the top five the current Songs the Summer chart are more Drake and Cardi B: Drake's "God's Plan" ranks at No. 4 and Maroon 5's "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, places at No. 5.
