It’s been six years since BTS began their path towards world domination with the release of their first single, “No More Dream,” on June 13, 2013, and the group kicked off their annual Festa anniversary celebrations today with the release of a series of photos as the clock struck midnight of June 3 in Seoul (June 2 ET).
Dubbed a “Family Portrait” photo set of the group, BTS shared dozens of new photos of the septet that paired off the members in a variety of combinations. Each of the seven men are seen in the outfits and settings correlating to their own solo release personas from over the years, such as Suga wearing a look more closely associated with his Agust D mixtape and Jimin appearing in the setting for his “Serendipity” music video.
The photos were shared through a Facebook album, linked to in a tweet from the official BTS account.
These will be far from the last photos of BTS released during the 2019 Festa period: a second set of Family Portraits is scheduled to be released on June 10, while tomorrow (June 4) in Korea will see the arrival of something dubbed "BTS Photo 18/19."
Past years of BTS' annual Festa anniversary extravaganza have seen the act release a variety of videos, photos and songs, including last year's "Ddaeng."
Other releases that BTS' ARMY can look forward to over the next few weeks of BTS' 2019 Festa have been teased by the act. They'll include things like "Anpanman by BTS" — which will be something related to the song from last year's Billboard 200 chart-topping Love Yourself: Tear that has played a major role in their Love Yourself and Love Yourself: Speak Yourself tours — something "By Jin," two choreography videos, a piano version of Jungkook’s solo “Euphoria” released on last year’s Love Yourself: Answer, updated profiles of the group and things cryptically described as “Bangtan News” and “Bangtan Attic,” referring to the first part of the group’s Korean name, Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단, translated: “Bulletproof Boyscouts”).
BTS will be holding their annual Muster concert series in South Korea later this month. The 5th Muster: Magic Shop will be held at the Busan Auxiliary Stadium on June 15 to 16, and then Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Arena on June 22 to 23.
The group held two historic, sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Arena this weekend.
Following the release of the Family Portraits, fans of BTS trended a variety of hashtags and phrases relating to the group on Twitter, including "2019 BTS Festa" and "Agust D," and shared their reactions with the world. Those trends coincided with the hours-long trend of "To My Beloved V," in honor of the member's unveil six years ago on June 2 as the last-revealed member of BTS' lineup.
