After being arrested on drugs and weapons charges following a traffic stop in the Atlanta area, Boosie Badazz has posted bond and was released from Coweta County Jail on Tuesday afternoon (April 9), Billboard can confirm. Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch Jr., coughed up $4,050 in bond to regain his freedom.
Boosie was originally pulled over after Coweta County law enforcement noticed his rented Dodge Challenger was dangeriously swerving lanes on Monday (April 8). A search of the vehicle ensued, and police found a loaded 9mm handgun, about 11 grams of marijuana, and $20,160 in cash, which resulted in the 36-year-old's arrest alongside his bodyguard Antonio Allen.
The Louisiana-bred rapper is facing misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana and failure to maintain lane charges, while the charges for possession of a schedule one drug and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime are both considered felonies. Boosie is due back in Georgia court later in 2019.
