Boosie Badazz was arrested following a traffic stop in the Metro Atlanta area on Monday (April 8), according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Jail records show that Boosie, born Torrence Hatch Jr., remains behind bars in Cowety County Jail on weapons and drug-related charges.
The Newnan Times-Herald reports that police originally pulled Boosie over after noticing his white Dodge Challenger swerving lanes and nearly causing an accident with another driver. During the traffic stop, law enforcement discovered a loaded firearm, marijuana, and a large sum of cash in the vehicle, which prompted police to book the 36-year-old rapper.
The car's passenger, who identified as Boosie's bodyguard, Antonio Allen, was also apprehended once a bag of marijuana containing about 11 grams and a loaded 9mm handgun was found under Allen's seat. Contrary to previous reports, the Antonio Allen arrested on Monday was not the former New York Jets safety.
Hatch is facing possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule one drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and failure to maintain lane charges. Law enforcement told The Newnan Times-Herald that charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon are still pending.
Records show that the "Wipe Me Down" artist is being held on $3,500 bond and his next court date is slated for Christmas Day of this year.
