Bobby Brown’s Sister Slams His Wife Ahead Of A&E Biopic: ‘You’re Not Getting Away With This!’

Bobby Brown’s life has been marred by tragedy. In February 2012, iconic signer Whitney Houston — who was married to Brown from 1992 to 2007 — was found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Many people blamed Brown’s influence on Houston for causing her death. The New Edition legend had been known to struggle with substance abuse himself and when he married Houston in 1992, they both seemed to implode together as their tumultuous marriage went on for 14 years.

In July 2015, tragedy would strike Brown again when the couple’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was discovered unresponsive in a bathtub, much like her mother. After six months in a coma, Brown was forced to take her off life support at just 22 years old. He later lost his son, Bobby Brown Jr., to drug abuse as well.

Brown’s life is the subject of A&E’s forthcoming Biography docu-series, Bobby Brown: Every Little Step, which is already stirring up controversy. On May 19, PEOPLE ran an interview with Brown and his current wife Alicia Etheredge in which they discuss their life together. The couple also appeared on an episode of Good Morning America just days prior. But Brown’s sister, Leola Brown Muhammad, has apparently taken issue with some of the things Etheredge said. On Tuesday (May 24), she ripped into Etheredge and accused her of lying.

“Don’t you all believe Alicia talking about my niece Bobbi Kristina & my nephew Bobby Jr.,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “Enough is a dam NUFF of the faking now. Bobby Jr was not even allowed in his own father’s home BCS of ALICIA! And I have a dam witness that he had nowhere to go in LA BCS Alicia wouldn’t let him stay in his own father’s house!

“Oh yeah, I’m gon tell the dam truth and Shane that devil. I HAD TO FIND SHELTER FOR HIM PLUS SEND HIM MONEY BCS HE HAD NO MONEY FOR FOOD SO STOP THE DAM LYING ALICIA! AND TRUST THERES MORE!!!!”

Brown-Muhammad continued by condemning all of the people she feels have taken advantage of her brother, saying, “Oh no your not getting away with this YOU ARE FAKE AND PHONY!!! And THE TRUTH is coming so you can do whatever pleases you sweetie but it won’t help you. When the world finds out the truth about you it’ll put a stop to all this bull crap your trying to set up for yourself. I’m so sick of you dam demonized evil beasts around my brother.

“You all preyed on my brother since day one…and now he married you KNOWING he should not have. And stop telling people that you were with my brother before Whitney. He never married you then BCS you were a groupie like I said.”

Brown-Muhammad said in another Facebook post Etheredge was only in the marriage to rob Bobby Brown of his legacy once he’s gone.

“Paleez WHITNEY HOUSTON WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,” she wrote. “TRUST ME Bobby Brown can never forget such a real woman. No worries. Whitney had a strong spirit that B can’t forget. That’s THE impossible. Whitney probably comes in his dreams.

“She wants him to forget so she can be the only thing around him. This is why his children by Whitney and Kim are targeted. Alicia wants it to be just her & him for HIS LEGACY PURPOSES. Oh she got plans … but God has BIGGER PLANS for Bobby. And surprises for her evilness.”

Houston was pronounced dead on February 11, 2012, shortly before she was expected to attend a pre-Grammy Awards party with Clive Davis. Over a month later, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office reported Houston’s death was caused by drowning and the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.”

The office said the amount of cocaine found in Houston’s body indicated she’d used the substance shortly before her death. Toxicology results revealed additional drugs in her system, including Benadryl, Xanazx, cannabis and Flexeril, a muscle relaxer.

Bobby Brown: Every Little Step premieres on Sunday (May 30) via the A&E Network at 8/7 p.m. CST.
