Blu & Exile Reunite For Hard-Hitting Track ‘True & Livin’ From Upcoming EP: Premiere

At various times in rap, there's just a certain chemistry between an artist and producer that can't be explained, but every time they link up there's always another creative breakthrough. Blu and Exile have showcased that dynamic bond over the course of the last decade plus that began with their certified classic, Below The Heavens. The West Coast duo returns on Thursday (May 2) to kick off the rollout of their True & Livin EP with the project's soulful title track.

"We only come in peace to preach about the next coming/ The first black president, what if the next is woman?/ This is for those becoming what you intend to be/ Pull off your suits of struggle and wash your sins and see/ This is finna be even deeper than a sunken ship/ 2000 plus slaves underground above the rich," Blu raps over the looped Exile production.

The rest of the EP includes features from Emanon's Aloe Blacc, Choosey, Fashawn, Dag Savage, Cashus King and Blame. Look for the project to hit DSPs on May 24. Prior to that, Blu & Exile will be touring the new music on the road starting Thursday night (May 2) in Seattle for the True & Livin' Tour, where the True & Livin vinyl record will be exclusively sold at each stop.
