Block B BASTARZ Declare ‘I’m a Mess’ In New EP: Stream It Now

Three years since the release of their last album, Block B subunit BASTARZ have released their new EP, I’m a Mess.

Out on Thursday (March 28), the eight-track EP is fronted by two singles, the pre-album release “From Seoul” and the lead song “Help Me.” The former was released on March 20, and is a jazzy alt R&B track that ruminates on their careers, lives, and their home city of Seoul. Meanwhile, the latter is a funky dance track that emphasizes the group's sleek vocals and their hip-hop leanings through discordant tonal shifts.

Along with songs featuring the group, the EP also includes solo tracks from BASTARZ’ B-BOMB and U-KWON. Both B-BOMB’s “Recognize” and U-KWON’s “Let’s Ride” are collaborative tracks with other artists; the former features Punchnello and the latter has Ja Mezz serving up smooth rap bars.

Each song on the album features at least one of the trio as a co-songwriter, with the three credited as lyricists and composers throughout I’m a Mess.

BASTARZ most recently released their album Welcome 2 Bastarz in 2016, and Block B as a whole most recently released the single "Don't Leave" at the start of 2018. Stream I'm a Mess below.
