Bill Cosby will be sentenced for his sexual assault charges in July, where there will be a large amount security present both for his protection and for general safety, according to TMZ. Montgomery County Sheriff Sean Kilkenny says that security for the event will be “100 percent all hands on deck.” The report states that “dozens ficers from the Sheriff’s fice and Norristown PD,” as well as county detectives and courthouse security guards, will be on the scene. Plain-clothed ficers will also be on the lookout for suspicious activity.
No threats have been made against Coby to Kilkenny’s knowledge, but he says his security will be prepared for any risk to safety or dangerous situations. Cosby’s own security team will also be present, and if a judge orders it, the Sheriff’s fice will provide additional escorts.
In April, Cosby was found guilty three counts aggravated indecent assault. He’s facing 10 years for each charge. He was released on $1 million bail and instructed to remain within his home until sentencing. TMZ reports that Cosby will be treated like anyone else after his sentencing. He will be placed in cuffs and led to prison processing by deputies. While incarcerated, he may receive special treatment due to his health.
Cosby accuser Victoria Valentino spoke Cosby’s sentencing last week. “It is time for him to suffer the consequences his own actions,” she said. “Regardless his age because we have all suffered the consequences his actions for decades. This man has probably been the most prolific serial rapist the 20th century. He’s been going at it for 50 years.”
