Bas Recruits ASAP Ferg For Breezy New Single 'Boca Raton': Listen

J. Cole set the tone for what's to come from his Dreamville empire with the surprise release his fifth studio album KOD. Now, Cole's fellow Dreamville cohort Bas follows suit with his first release the new year, “Boca Raton,” a breezy summer-ready earworm featuring A$AP Ferg.

For “Boca Raton,” producer Sango lays down distorted synths and tambourine shakes as light drum strikes creep in behind Bas' vocals. Bas isn't looking to be tied down in a relationship, rapping, “I got this chick on the phone/Talking 'bout life and how I just ain't for her, I been inclined to agree/'Cause all I been doin' is me/Now I can't be your one baby girl/But I play the two or the three now.”

Around the midway mark, Ferg is introduced by his trademark chant before shouting out other Dreamville rappers like Cozz and Cole. “Nothing but designer, we can go shopping/You want the Zonda or 'Rari?/We could get both so you know this shit poppin,” he raps, asking his woman to choose between the two luxury cars.

Bas didn't reveal whether his newest single would land on any forthcoming projects, but when a fan asked the rapper, “Aye yo @Bas this how you comin all summer?” Bas replied, “ALL SUMMER,” hinting that new music may come sooner than we think.
