It’s been fairly a comeback 12 months for the Backstreet Boys. Back in February, their new studio album DNA topped the Billboard 200, marking their first No. 1 album in 19 years. They’ve received a worldwide area tour lined up for the summer season. The quintet took that momentum to the iHeartRadio Music Awards stage tonight (March 14) with an interesting, past-meets-present efficiency.
One by one, the BSB members appeared all through the L.A. Microsoft Theater crowd -- Brian Littrell even received a fist-bump from Steven Tyler -- and traded off the opening strains of their current single, “No Place.” They reached the stage through the climax of the lovelorn observe and segued into their everlasting basic, “I Want It That Way.” Well-trained from their ongoing Vegas residency (and numerous different performances of their signature music) Backstreet Boys crooning and belting the long-lasting strains of “I Want It That Way” was, as at all times, an enormous second.
As for his or her current single's radio efficiency, “No Place” at the moment sits at No. 23 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs chart. In six weeks on the tally, it’s peaked at No. 20. And as for the throwback, “I Want It That Way” peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100 again in June of 1999.
