The new venture, called Last Nite, will be led by GM Matt D'Arduini.
Sony Music's relaunched Arista Records is expanding its reach in electronic music with a new label called Last Nite.
Matt D'Arduini has been appointed GM of the label, as well as senior vp A&R at Arista Records, and will report to Arista president and CEO David Massey. Sony Music international artists Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dom Dolla, Dynamo and Sigala will also join the new venture.
“I am very excited that Arista is expanding with a new label whose roster represents a diverse and unique array of artists within the electronic space," said Massey in a statement. "Similar to our distinctive approach at Arista, Last Nite is laser-focused on artist relations and development. We are very excited to have Matt in both of these key positions in the Arista family.”
D’Arduini formerly worked as A&R director at independent dance label Robbins Entertainment, where he signed Afrojack, and Def Jam's 4th & B’Way Records, where he helped release hits including Afrojack's "Take Over Control," Sam Feldt's "Show Me Love" and Seeb's remix of Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza."
“I’m thankful to David Massey for bringing me on to join the Arista family," D'Arduini added, "and for the opportunity to establish an innovative new electronic label.”
Arista is no stranger to the electronic music world. The label currently boasts DJs and producers Steve Angello, Dynoro and others. No word on the label's first planned release, but stay tuned for more details.
