Anthem Entertainment has acquired a catalog of co-writes by songwriter/producer Eric Frederic, known as Ricky Reed, from Boardwalk Music Group. The catalog includes Reed’s contributions to hits by Lizzo (“Truth Hurts,” "Good as Hell"), Halsey ("Bad at Love") and Leon Bridges ("Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand"), along with tracks by Pitbull, Jason Derulo and Meghan Trainor, among others.
"This is an amazing catalog of contemporary hit songs that is diversified and crosses multiple genres," said Helen Murphy, Anthem Entertainment’s CEO. "I am particularly pleased that it contains tracks from powerhouse female artists such as Lizzo, Meghan Trainor and Halsey."
Added Boardwalk Music Group founder Evan "Kidd" Bogart, “I am extremely excited that Boardwalk Music Group’s participation in this incredible catalog of songs written by the genius that is Ricky Reed has found such an extraordinary home with Helen Murphy and her fabulous team at Anthem. It feels great to know that these copyrights will continue to thrive for many years to come under their passion and guidance.”
Bogart re-formed Boardwak in 2011 — it began as a record label founded by his father, Neil Bogart — and in recent years has worked with ZZ Ward and Tom Peyton, among others.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boardwalk Music Group was represented by John Frankenheimer and Amy Ortner of Loeb & Loeb, LLP and Jeff Franklin of ATI.
