Andrés Saavedra, an award-winning music industry veteran, has been named vice president of A&R as part of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, Machete Music and Capital Latin, according to a spokesperson with Universal Music.
Saavedra, based in Miami, has a tenure of credits that includes working with artists such as Sebastian Yatra, Nacho, Luis Fonsi, Tommy Torres, Karol G and Paty Cantu, among others, according the company rep.
A winner of multiple Grammy and Latin Grammys, Saavedra has maintained a prolific career as an independent producer, composer and CEO of RadioActive Music, Inc., according to the official Universal Music bio.
Saavedra will direct the corresponding music departments, including sign and develop new talent. He will report to Alejandro Duque, general manager, Universal Music Latino, Machete Music and Capitol Latin.
