Madame Tussauds Las Vegas has immortalized legendary R&B singer Aaliyah with her very own wax figure, which was officially unveiled to the public on Wednesday.
The museum's ode to Baby Girl comes just days away from the 18th anniversary of her fatal Bahamas plane crash, back on Aug. 25, 2001, at the age of 22. The wax figure pays homage to Aaliyah's iconic look from her 2000 "Try Again" music video. Aaliyah Haughton's family made sure The Princess of R&B's figure was meticulously accurate, from her metallic choker down to the tattoos.
“I was involved in the process from the inception of the project,” Aaliyah's brother, Rashad Haughton, told Vibe. “The team at Madame Tussauds welcomed a collaborative effort in choosing the pose and look of my sister's figure. They made sure my mother and I were comfortable and supported through an amazing but understandably emotional process.”
