A Rachel Dolezal Documentary Is Coming To Netflix

Rachel Dolezal, the ever perplexing media darling 2015, cross checked her racial opponents into a state bewilderment.

Let’s get into it: she was a white passing, transracial woman, showing signs  body dysmorphia, who went to great lengths to embody her spirit through the physical manifestation her ideals. Not to mention, her participation in the political and social advancement African Americans and their “racial reconstruction,” led her to down the path African Studies at the academic level. She also kinked her hair and began collecting African idols and art. That about sums it up.. in short.

Well, filmmaker Laura Brownson has decided to expand upon my introductory paragraph. She has reconstructed the full story in a documentary wittily titled The Rachel Divide. In conversation with Vulture, she explained what compelled her to start the project:

“In making the film, I came to a deeper understanding the raw nerve that Rachel hits in our society, but I also learned that her motivations to identify as she does are far more complicated than most realize,” 

The film is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival before it hits Netflix on April 27. Peep the Netflix teaser below.
