Amidst headlines about an alleged attack on the Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine,the controversial star delivered the Nicki Minaj-assisted "FEFE" video on Sunday (July 22). The pair NYC natives travel to a vibrant setting and enjoy various sweets throughout the Candy Land-inspired clip. Figure Eight Creative Group's TrifeDrew and William Asher helm the visual's artistic direction.
Nicki and Tekashi take things back to their childhood days for a bizarre opening scene featuring the two playing a game Patty Cake on the balloon-filled set. The 22-year-old kicks his verse f laced in a cheetah print top and some pink shorts. Murda Beatz, who co-produced the tune, also makes a short cameo holding a heavy-duty water gun.
Minaj seductively reintroduces herself shortly after the one-minute mark, confidently shouting out 6ix9ine's Treyway gang. She slows down her flow for a refreshing approach during the extended cameo. The couple sit face-to-face once again and give each other's ice cream a taste with their arms interlocked.
The video's release comes draped in controversy, as 6ix9ine was reportedly hospitalized after an alleged brutal kidnapping attempt following a Brooklyn video shoot in the wee hours Sunday morning (July 22). TMZ has also stated that Tekashi's recount the scuffle to law enforcement is significantly different compared to their initial report.
6ix9ine posted a photo XXXTentacion after the incident to Instagram on Sunday, claiming he thought his life could have been over. "I had a feeling that it was my day to die. May GOD strike me dead if I’m lying," he wrote.
