50 Cent & G-Unity Foundation Make Surprise Hefty Donation For Houston Christmas Super Feast

Houston, TX – 50 Cent made a surprise appearance in Houston last week to aid the city in its Christmas Eve Super Feast.

Organized by the nonprofit City Wide Club, the food and toy giveaway needed the public’s assistance in getting enough food and toys for 25,000 people. Enter 50 and his G-Unity Foundation.

The mogul donated about $850,000 worth of toys to the event, looking to help the nonprofit reach a set goal of 100,000 toys to donate.

“You make more, you give more back,” 50 said at a press conference on December 17. “They already have the foundation in this community built, so I was able to just make the collaboration, so you know it’s real as soon as you get in there.”

He added, “This is really exciting. It’s a new opportunity for me to start a new relationship with Houston. I’m excited about it. I had a lot of fun things for the kids I think they’ll appreciate and enjoy it.”

The city is additionally teaming up with 17 restaurants to prepare meals to go to help those hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It benefits our restaurants, it benefits the people who need it,” Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said. “25,000 prepared meals will be available in addition to all the other things that people can get on Christmas Eve.”

The event will take place on Christmas Eve (December 24) at the George R. Brown Convention Center for families to either walk or drive up to receive their food boxes and toys.
