At iHeartRadio's KIIS FM Wango Tango in Los Angeles on Saturday (June 1), Billboard caught up with 5 Seconds of Summer to chat about their latest single "Easier" and more.

"We just want to be a dynamic band throughout the whole of our career and this is just kind of another natural progression to this next chapter of us being a band," bassist Calum Hood explains to Billboard in regards to their darker, more sultry sound. "I think it's a special one for 5 Seconds to Summer and it's one that we really pushed ourselves to achieve and keep on achieving."

"We make our music not only for ourselves but for them," drummer Ashton Irwin says about the fan's reaction to the new single. "They always accept what we do and I love that about them. We're very lucky to have fans like that, not a lot of people do."

When we asked what kind of music they were currently listening to, the Australian stars gushed over Halsey's blazing new song, "Nightmare." "Out of all the music that everyone has released recently, I think Halsey's music is the best," Irwin says. "It is like a big pop punk chorus, which I think is super tight and bold, which I love."

The Hot 100 band went on to say that they are excited to enjoy all of the other live acts at Wango Tango 2019, which included a lineup of Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, Halsey, Zedd, and more.
