30 Seconds To Mars Guitarist Tomo Milicevic Quits: 'This is a Good Thing And Will Be Good For Everyone'

After 30 Seconds To Mars announced in March that guitarist Tomo Miličević was taking a break to deal with “personal matters,” Tomo confirmed on Tuesday (June 12) that he is ficially leaving the band. “I don’t really know how to explain in a note how I could have come to a decision like this, but please believe me when I say that this is the best thing for me in my life and also for the band,” wrote the guitarist in a statement.

Tomo singled out singer Jared Leto and his brother drummer Shannon for praise. “I want to say thank you to Jared and Shannon for allowing me the privilege to be a small part their dream and to have been able to share the stage with them for so long.” He also implored fans not to be angry. “This is a good thing and will be good for everyone,” wrote Miličević, who joined the band in 2003. A spokesperson for the group could not be reached at press time to address who will replace Miličević going forward in the power trio.

30 Seconds to Mars are currently in the throes their Monolith Tour, with their album America being the bands highest-charting album ever on the Billboard 200, debuting at No. 2
