Electro-pop artist Lauv stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy fallon for a colorful and charismatic performance his up-tempo hit "I Like Me Better" on Monday night (Aug. 6).
The 23-year-old singer, dressed in a huge fuzzy plaid coat overtop a white tank top, kicked things f by launching an array chopped-up vocal samples before taking to the mic. A flurry blue lights flashed around the stage as he crooned, "To be drunk and in love in New York City/Midnight into morning cfee/Burning through the hours talking."
During the funky instrumental breaks, Lauv couldn't keep still. He whipped around in circles with an infectious smile on his face and danced to the music as if it were his first time hearing it, while his bright blue and white logo flashed on the screen behind him. As the song ended, he launched into a falsetto vocal run and brought the set to a close.
"I Like Me Better" is from the singer's latest project, I Met You When I Was 18. (the playlist). This past spring, he finished up his first world tour.
