Even though he served time for gun possession charges, Anuel AA never stopped making music behind bars. In fact, his debut album Real Hasta La Muerte dropped July 17, the same day he was released from prison, and earned him his first No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart (on the list dated July 28).
On Saturday, the controversial Latin trap artist set foot on a stage for the first time in two years as Ozuna's special guest during his Aura Tour concert in Miami.
Grateful for his new beginnings, Anuel AA penned an emotional message on Instagram. “From night to day, I got out prison and went from 0 to 100,” he wrote. “I am still getting used to everything that is happening to me and learning to handle fame and money,” he added, assuring that he’s still the same Anuel he was before becoming famous.
In all-caps, the Puerto Rican artist emphasized that he’s happier than ever and that he had the best week his life. “I’m thankful for my life with all the people who never forgot me and believe in me,” he continued. “Thanks to you, I am who I am now.”
He also fessed up that money and all his bling means nothing to him because there are things and people whom he "loves with all his life that money can’t buy."
His heartfelt message, which was accompanied with a recap video his first-ever performance at Miami’s American Airlines Arena, concluded with a special shout-out to his fans and Ozuna, whom he says kept him alive during his worst times.
